New soundtrack release! About a year ago, Zac Villanueva graciously invited me to score his film “Late”, about a soon-to-be father who desperately fights to protect his family after an affair places him in the center of a murder investigation.
The score needed to be dark, intimate, and personal. Originally using strings and piano, the music was feeling a bit too mystical, and so we reimagined it with the cello taking center stage.
A few days later, we recorded this score on the John Williams Scoring Stage at USC. My dear friend Alex Mansour came in and brought the score to life with his inventive and visceral performance on the cello.
This was truly a collaborative experience, and I’m excited to share this soundtrack with you!
