A Late-Year Release for "Late"

Maffe dipped his toes back into the world of USC for a short film score directed by the up-and-coming Zachary Villanueva. In "Late", a soon-to-be father desperately fights to protect the future of his family after an affair places him in the center of a murder investigation.

The movie premiered on December 14 at the Eileen Norris Cinema Theatre.

Maffe's original score features a potent combination of simple melody and out-of-the-box sound design. The score was recorded at the John Williams Scoring Stage and is highlighted by a stirring cello performance by Alex Mansour, whom Maffe also collaborated with on "Milk Teeth" (2020).
